Hi there!
It’s Rosie here—your sweet and spunky service dog in training! I wanted to send you a big tail wag and thank you for being such an important part of my journey. Because of your support, I’m learning how to become a life-changing partner for a veteran with PTSD, and I’m working hard every day to make you proud!
I just turned 13 months old (can you believe it?), and I’ve been keeping busy with lots of training adventures. Lately, I’ve been focusing on preparing for my Advanced Training Milestone, which is a big step in my journey. I’ve been going to lots of stores and restaurants to practice my public access skills and make sure I can be calm, polite, and focused—even in exciting places.
Speaking of exciting… I got to visit downtown Jacksonville recently and explore the skate park and Friendship Fountain! So many new sights, sounds, and smells—it was a great way to practice ignoring distractions (even though I really wanted to sniff everything and say hi to everyone!).
I’m definitely a people-pup—everyone I meet becomes my instant best friend. But that also means I’m still learning to keep my attention on my trainer when we’re out and about. My curiosity sometimes gets the better of me, but I’m trying my very best to stay focused. I know that being a service dog means putting my person first, and I’m committed to learning how to do that every single day.
Thank you for making my training possible. Your support means the world to me, and I hope you know how much I appreciate it. I’m a good girl (that’s what my trainer says!), and I can’t wait to make a big difference in the life of a veteran very soon.
With happy tail wags and puppy love,
Rosie 🐾
